Library Technical Services Coordinator, Bristol Community College (Fall River)

The Coordinator of Library Services - Technical Services provides leadership and is responsible for Library Technical Services operations, including acquisitions, cataloging and inventory control, resource discovery, proxy server access, and special collections. The position provides collection development support for all formats, including but not limited to managing vendor relations, collection statistics and analysis, and convening collection development meetings with librarian liaisons. The Coordinator prepares original and copy cataloging records for materials in all formats and oversees the provision of additional copy cataloging and processing support. This position functions as the main technical contact for Bristol's integrated library system (KOHA through the Higher Education Libraries of Massachusetts (HELM) consortium) and discovery platform (EDS). The position supports other library systems, as needed, and works to provide seamless integration across systems to facilitate research and discovery. The Coordinator may supervise part-time and full-time staff, as department needs require. The Coordinator serves as a member of the LLC leadership team and participates in strategic planning and service assessment. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Minimum of a Master's degree in Library Science or closely related field. 
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience and/or training involving library operations, reference service, bibliographic instruction, circulation service, copy cataloging, and library information systems. 
* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
* Demonstrated proficiency with cataloging standards, such as but not limited to Resource Description and Access (RDA), Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2), Library of Congress subject Heading policies and classification rules, Library of Congress Authority Files, MARC Records management, and OCLC. 
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
* Reliable transportation for travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as required. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Three or more years of experience working with cataloging standards and tools (i.e., Resource Description and Access (RDA), Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2), Library of Congress subject Heading policies and classification rules, Library of Congress Authority Files, MARC Records, and OCLC). 
* Demonstrated proficiency with Koha ILS (integrated library system), EZ Proxy, EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) and/or SpringShare products.
* Demonstrated experience with collection development and management.
* Demonstrated experience with metadata and digital librarianship.
* Demonstrated project management experience.
* Intermediate reading proficiency in Portuguese.

$76,153.00 - $90,535.00  /  year

Salary Notes

Starting salary commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
