Head of Circulation - Senior Librarian, Reuben Hoar Library (Littleton)
The Town of Littleton seeks a responsible librarian to head the Circulation Department of the library starting on or after August 29, 2025. The Head of Circulation oversees all circulation services and staff, ensuring efficient, fair, patron-focused operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining a positive user experience, managing front-line services, and supporting the overall goals of the library.
Key Responsibilities include supervising circulation staff and volunteers, including scheduling; overseeing all circulation activities, including but not limited to item check-in and check-out, out-of-network interlibrary loans, patron registration, and patron billing for lost or damaged items. Also manages meeting room and museum pass reservations, resolves patron issues, and maintains and analyzes circulation statistics and reports. Acts as liaison to other libraries and communicates circulation-related policy and procedural changes to staff. Performs reader’s advisory and all other related work as required.
This is a non-exempt, benefit-eligible position for 30 hours per week. Full hourly range: is $32.95/hr - $41.16/hr in ten steps. Qualifications
Bachelor’s or MLIS degree plus 3-5 years library experience preferred though any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software desired, as well as knowledge of Sirsi Dynix (WorkFlows) ILS, Assabet, and ComCat. Must be proactive and detail-oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Must balance multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
