Library Associate (Media Specialist), Holmes Public Library (Halifax)
The Town of Halifax is now accepting applications for the position of Library Associate (Media Specialist). This position is responsible for creating. distributing, and managing the library’s marketing and media materials and services including the monthly newsletter, website, calendar, and social media pages. The Media Specialist is also responsible for assisting with the circulation of library materials.
This is a Part Time, Non-Union, benefited position.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) is required for this position. Experience with public library operations is preferred. Strong public service and
organizational skills, knowledge of and experience with popular media platforms, such as Facebook preferred,
knowledge of and experience with using Android and IOS devices, knowledge of computers and computer
programs such as, WordPress, Canva, Library Aware, and other emerging technologies.
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must complete and pass a background check (CORI).
