Art Engagement Librarian, Curtis Memorial Library (Brunswick, ME)
Curtis Memorial Library is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Art Engagement Librarian to join our Library. The Art Engagement Librarian at Curtis Library would develop, curate and promote the Library’s art collection. In addition, this position would create and provide related art programming within the Library. The goal of this position would be to engage the community with the Library through the art collection, as well as to expand patron knowledge and experience of art in general. The Art Engagement Librarian would be a member of the Library’s Community Art Committee and would also oversee the Curtis Creative Hive to expand and grow this create space. Position is full-time (35 hrs/wk) and includes some evening and weekend hours. Required master's degree in library & information science from an ALA accredited program and an art related degree or comparable professional experience in the visual arts. Preferred 3+ years of professional public library experience and salary range is $52,400-$56,765, commensurate with experience. Located in beautiful mid-coast Maine, Curtis Memorial Library is a dynamic community center serving a population area of 25,000 in the towns of Brunswick and Harpswell, with over 900 visits a day. The area offers a rich array of educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities and a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly downtown.
Qualifications
Required master's degree in library & information science from an ALA accredited program and an art related degree or comparable professional experience in the visual arts.
