Circulation and Technology Coordinator, G.A.R. Memorial Library (West Newbury)

Due to a retirement, the G.A.R. Memorial Library is seeking an organized, motivated, and tech-savvy Circulation and Technology Coordinator to join our team. Under the direction of the Library Director, this position is responsible for managing circulation operations and all technology at the library. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing outstanding customer service, possess exceptional technology, communication, and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate proven success in effectively leading and inspiring staff.

West Newbury is a small-town with a strong sense of community and an engaged population. The Library operates on a one-service desk model. Duties

The Circulation and Technology Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Circulation Department and all library technology, ensuring smooth workflows and a positive patron experience.

·       Serves as point person for circulation staff and volunteers

·       Prepares drafts of daily and weekly staff schedules for approval by the Director

·       Resolves patron account issues

·       Ensures that all changes and directives made at the consortium-level are implemented locally to ensure cohesion consortium-wide

·       Responsible for the oversight of server support and routine system maintenance

·       Maintains current knowledge of all e-Resources, including online databases

·       Serves as the technical liaison to the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium for needs related to technology

Qualifications

Three to five years of library experience demonstrating progressive responsibility. Strong knowledge of library work principles and practices, use of library resources and information technology, and automated library systems. Commitment to excellent customer service and a desire to serve the community. Effective communication skills with patrons of all ages and backgrounds. Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technologies. Ability to prioritize tasks, remain flexible, and show initiative in a dynamic environment. Candidates must have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. 

Must be available to work occasional evening and Saturday shifts.
