Brooks Free Library in beautiful Harwich, Massachusetts is seeking an inspiring and visionary Library Director to guide one of Cape Cod’s most cherished institutions.

As Library Director, you will:
● Lead and empower a dedicated team while cultivating a culture of collaboration and respect.
● Shape the future of library services through innovative programs and technology.
● Manage resources strategically, including budgets, capital planning, and operations.
● Build strong partnerships with Town officials, the Board of Library Trustees, and the community.
We’re looking for a dynamic leader with:
● A Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (ALA-accredited).
● At least five years of library administration experience.
● Exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to foster community engagement.
● Expertise in library technology and a forward-thinking approach to trends.

Qualifications
Master's Degree in Library and Information Science or similar program accredited by the American Library Association, ability to obtain Massachusetts Certificate of Professional Librarianship issued by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners within the specified timeframe after appointment as required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and five years of progressively responsible experience in library administration, including supervisory and personnel management experience, strategic planning, program development, and financial management functions including development of budget proposals and funding requests and oversight of expenditures, procurement and purchasing.
