About the Holyoke Public Library
Located in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, the library is situated in the downtown district of the city of Holyoke. Originally built in 1902 with a restoration completed in the fall of 2013, the current structure combines the city’s rich history with facilities for children, teens, and general library users. A park surrounding the building is used for small concerts, summer programming, and public gatherings and events. Free meeting spaces for non-profit community partners round out the library’s community first ideal. Our professional staff of 20 serves a diverse population of 38,000 as a part of the CW/MARS regional library system. The library strives to be a hub of community activity particularly during the after-school hours interacting with a student population from 5 elementary schools, two high schools, and several parochial schools and home school groups.
