Library Technician, Flint Memorial Library (North Reading)
Are you a "people person" with a passion for community service and a knack for organization? The Library is
looking for a highly motivated, tech-savvy individual to join our team!
As a Library Technician, you’ll be the face of the library, helping patrons navigate our resources while ensuring
our daily operations run smoothly. Whether you’re recommending a great read, troubleshooting a tablet, or
designing a catchy flyer on Canva, your work will directly impact the vibrancy of our community.
What You’ll Do
• Public Service: Work regular shifts at our circulation, reference, and children’s desks, providing top-tier
customer service.
• Patron Support: Assist visitors with library equipment, museum pass reservations, and research questions.
• Creative Marketing: Design engaging promotional materials, flyers, and eye-catching displays to highlight
our collections.
• Collection Care: Help keep our library beautiful and organized through shelving, weeding, and maintenance
tasks.
• Program Support: Lend a hand with in-person events and library programming.
Schedule: 14 hours per week. Includes one evening per week and one Saturday every four weeks (Sept–May).
Benefits: Union eligible, including clothing allowance, COLA, and merit-based raises. (Note: Not eligible for
health insurance or Town pension).
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Tech Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Canva and SirsiDynix Workflows is a major
plus!
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain technology to patrons of all ages.
• Mindset: A self-motivated, detail-oriented approach with the ability to handle frequent interruptions with a
smile.
