Archivist, Thomas Crane Public Library (Quincy)
The Archivist assists in collecting, preserving, researching, programming, digitization, outreach, and public relations in the area of Quincy history, and all other related work as required. They provide timely public access to all Special Collections and Archives including materials, art, and objects owned by the Thomas Crane Public Library. Archivists engage in outreach and design and execute programming to support Special Collections, including mounting exhibitions, displaying collections, and providing reference, genealogical and related services. Has excellent interpersonal, communication, and research skills; thorough knowledge of departmental operations and the exercise of judgment in assigning and completing tasks.
Qualifications
• M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited library school and a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional education
• Minimum two years of experience in archival collection processing and management
• One year of experience providing direct public services
