Library Director, Merrimac Public Library (Merrimac)

The Merrimac Public Library Board of Trustees seeks applications for the position of Library Director. The Board is looking for an enthusiastic, community-focused leader to oversee all aspects of library operations and provide exceptional library services to the residents of Merrimac.

The Library Director is responsible for the overall administration, management, and operation of the Merrimac Public Library. The Director provides leadership in planning, organizing, and evaluating all library services and ensures the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused service that meets the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the community. The Director oversees library staff, manages the library's budget and collections, maintains the library facility, and works collaboratively with the Library Trustees and community partners to advance the library's mission.

Qualifications

A Master's Degree in Library Science, or a Bachelor's Degree with eligibility for professional certification issued by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, is required. A minimum of three years of library services experience, including at least two years in a supervisory position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
