MBLC Programs Status

The following is the status of MBLC programs supported fully or in part by federal funding. Programs not supported by federal funding are not listed here.

Continuing with State or Other Funding

  • Commonwealth Catalog

    • Funding for this essential program, both software and support, has been moved into our state budget line for FY26.
  • Environmental Monitoring (Conserv)

    • Funding for this essential program has been moved into our state budget line for FY26.
  • E-Rate Support

    • Continuing this in progress project was deemed a priority as libraries look for ways to stretch their budgets. Funding for the consultant was moved into the state budget line for FY26.
  • Summer Reading with the Bruins

    • The Bruins have provided additional funding in support of this program for Summer 2025.

Continuing in part with State or Other Funding

  • Library eBooks and Audiobooks (LEA)

    • A grant to participating library networks reimbursing the platform fees for OverDrive will be fully funded out of state funding for FY26.
    • A grant to participating library networks for eContent will be funded at a reduced level out of state funding for FY26.
  • Statewide Databases

Discontinued

  • Explore, Impact, and Inspire Grants

    • These grants have been cancelled for FY26 due to the uncertain availability of federal LSTA funding.
  • Ongoing Education and Training Resources

  • Grant to Department of Corrections

    • This grant to prison libraries for education and collections was cancelled due to the uncertain availability of federal LSTA funding.
