Position Overview:
The Kirstein Business Library & Innovation Center (KBLIC) is accepting applications for the 2024-2005 Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program generously funded by private philanthropic support from AllianceBernstein and the Boston Public Library Fund. Residency will be offered for this 8-month, in-residence opportunity starting October 2024.

In-residence appointee will work closely with KBLIC team and focus on mentoring early-stage entrepreneurs to promote, connect, and offer skill building resources to the library's diverse entrepreneurial and minority owned business community.

The resources of KBLIC, including technology and co-working space will be available to the EIR for the delivery of seminars, networking events, takeovers, workshops, and demonstrations to foster creativity and innovation. Residencies will be based in the Kirstein Business Library & Innovation Center located on the lower level of 700 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02116.

Reports to:
Curator of Kirstein Business Library & Innovation Center

Scope of Responsibilities:
Office Hours - the EIR will be available for one-on-one mentoring appointments to inspire and motivate individuals in their journey (min 5 hours per week)
Public Programs, Workshops and/or Events - the EIR will design and present entrepreneur-focused programs with diverse subject matter experts to cultivate learning and networking. EIR will also host end-of-residency mentor/mentee showcase.
The ability to offer evening programming is preferred (2 workshops or events per month)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Committed to developing Boston’s small business community by mentoring and inspiring new entrepreneurs.
• A proven record of starting and developing a product, service, or successful small to medium-sized business in the Greater Boston area.
• Three or more years of successful business experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Expert knowledge of evaluating business ideas and plans against essential criteria for success.
• Preference for candidates with proficiency in graphic design, audio/video editing, or podcasting.

Requirements:
Evening and weekend availability preferred.
Boston Residency NOT required.
CORI – Must successfully clear a Criminal Offenders Record Information check with the City of Boston.
