Senior Librarian, James White Memorial Library / Guilford Hathaway Library (Freetown)
Notice is hereby given that the Freetown Public Libraries and the Freetown Board of Library Trustees are seeking applications for the full-time (35hrs) position of Senior Librarian. Under the direction of the Library Director, the Senior Librarian is responsible for performing professional work in relation to cataloging and technical services. Primary responsibilities include acquisition, development, and maintenance of library materials as well as coordination and support of Library technology and services. In the absence of the Library Director, the Senior Librarian shall act in their place.
The Senior Librarian must have 5 years of library experience as well as 1-2 years of cataloging/technical services experience.
Bachelor’s or MLS is preferred.
This is a union position with benefits. Starting pay is $22.00.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or MLS degree preferred
* Five years of library experience
* IT experience preferred* Experience with SAILS network and Workflows system or similar system preferred
* Thorough knowledge of contemporary bibliographic-maintenance standards and practices, including Dewey Decimal Classification, Library of Congress subject headings, and OCLC/MARC records
* Duties may require lifting up to 40 lbs. and standing/sitting/bending/squatting for periods of time
