Information Services Associate/Technical Services, Regis College Library (Weston)


Under general direction of the Library Director, the Information Services Associate/Technical Services is responsible for assisting library patrons and the library staff in a variety of tasks. He/she will process new materials, copy catalog, and help with all areas of technical processing of items and collection maintenance. He/she will serve as a resource for patrons, facilitating access to library services and programs. He/she will provide superior customer service, enforce library policies, resolve problems, and handle complaints accordingly. She/he will help supervise student employees. In addition, he/she will help library staff process interlibrary loan requests, course reserves, maintain LMS (library management system) records, and process consortium requests.


• Provide excellent customer service to all Library patrons.
• Provide collection maintenance, copy cataloging, processing of new materials, weeding and other duties related to the maintenance of the collection.
• Handle a wide variety of patron questions; refers to appropriate library or campus service areas as needed.
• Assist in the operations of overall library services, including Circulation Desk and Reference Area.
• Troubleshoot and assist patrons with use of computers, library copiers, scanners, microform printers, and other library equipment.
• Use online library systems to circulate library and reserve materials, register new patrons, update and maintain confidentiality of patron records.
• Sort and shelve library materials, search for missing items, shelf-read, do floor-pickups, shift stacks, and process library material.
• Serve as a back-up at the Reference Desk, when needed.
• Contribute to development of documentation and training materials
• Open and close the library, when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of one year of experience in a library or enrolled in library degree program.
• Ability to positively interact with a diverse population and uphold the University's commitment to inclusive excellence.
• Customer service experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collegially in a team environment and within a diverse community.
• Ability to pay attention to detail, and perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.


• Circulation experience with Innovative Sierra LMS.
• Supervisory experience and training skills desirable.


• Supervises Library student employees under the direction of the Director. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Regis policies and applicable laws.
• May be responsible for student worker payroll verification and submittal.
• Responsibilities include training as needed.


• Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.
• Regular interruptions to assist library patrons. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• May spend extended periods at terminal or on telephone requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
• May be required to walk, stand, bend, reach, and lift books and materials.
