Library Director, Randall Library (Stow)

The Randall Library in Stow, MA seeks a dynamic, imaginative, and engaged Library Director to manage all aspects of library operations. This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) position, with some Saturdays required.

The Randall Library is an active community resource serving a population of about 7,300 that seeks to adapt to the changing needs of our community. The Library Director, in coordination with library staff, develops numerous programs for children, teens, adults and seniors. Under the direction of the Library Trustees, the Director: develops and monitors the annual budget; assists patrons with reference, technology, and readers’ advisory questions; oversees the library’s website and social media presence; supervises the staff of five part-time employees; works with the town accountant to complete payroll; manages the facility; and maintains the library’s warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The Director reports to the Randall Library Board of Trustees and works closely with various town boards and departments.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications
• MLS or equivalent degree
• 3-5 years of managerial experience
• demonstrated ability to forge effective relationships with other departments and community organizations
• experience in public libraries
• excellent communication skills
• a passion for working with people of all ages

Starting salary range: $58,771 to $73,465, depending on experience.
