Library Director, Rockland Memorial Library (Rockland)

The Town of Rockland, MA is seeking an energetic and motivated Library Director to fill a critical leadership and management position with customer service, outreach, policy development, and public space responsibilities for a population of almost 18,000.

Rockland Memorial Library is a member of the OCLN Library Network (OCLN), a cooperative of 28 member libraries including 26 public libraries and 2 academic libraries.

The successful candidate must be a proven and collaborative administrator. Work is performed under the direction of the elected Board of Library Trustees. The Library Director will manage all aspects of library services including, but not limited to collection development, information technology, budget administration, personnel management, policy formulation and facilities.

Qualified applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an A. L. A. accredited school; five years of progressively responsible experience in professional library work, including three years of administrative and supervisory responsibilities at a public or private library. Certification from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners for Professional Librarianship is required.

$75,141 to start and will increase on July 1, 2020 to $77,395.
