Library Circulation Technician, Ames Free Library of Easton (Easton)

The Ames Free Library of Easton invites applications from detail-oriented individuals with superior people skills and a passion for libraries for the position of Full-time (35 hours per week) Library Circulation Technician. 

Duties of this position include working with four other full-time circulation staff members as well as the circulation supervisor to provide and ensure outstanding customer service. 

The main roles of this position include: checking materials in and out, renewing items, registering new patrons, placing holds, processing interlibrary loans, and making museum pass reservations. The Library Circulation Technician may also be asked to assist patrons with readers advisory and basic instruction on library services, such as the online catalog or self-checkout machine. This benefited position requires two evening shifts a week as well as a rotating Saturday shift.

● Desire to work in a face-paced team environment
● Ability to deal effectively with the public in a tactful manner while upholding library policies
● Excellent organizational skills
● Excellent customer service skills
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently. 
● Familiarity with computers, and with library automated systems preferred
● Ability to work creatively and think outside the box

Library experience preferred.
