Library Assistant, Circulation, Ashland Public Library (Ashland)

The Town of Ashland is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Library Assistant, Circulation. Responsibilities include performing customer service duties to patron in person, on the phone and via email, collecting fines and fees, checking materials in and out, and providing some Reader’s Advisory.  This is a full-time, 35 hour a week position with the following work schedule:

Monday 1:00 – 8:00, Tuesday 10:00 - 4:00, Wednesday 12:00 - 8:00, Thursday 10:00 - 4:00, Friday 10:00 - 6:00, every other Saturday 10:00 - 5:00 (swaps with Monday hours)

Ability to operate a keyboard and other office equipment.  Required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, talk, hear, write, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, bend, climb, crouch and lift materials weighing up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distant vision.

High School diploma or equivalent is required.  Some college education is preferred.

Relevant experience in customer service, experience with Innovative Millennium or Sierra platforms and computer skills preferred.
