Accounts Payable Coordinator, Accufile (Boston)

Our client, a law firm in Boston’s financial district, has an excellent opportunity for a part time Accounts Payable Coordinator. The AP Coordinator is responsible for a variety of general accounting tasks and will work closely with all levels of firm personnel. The ideal person will need a strong attention to detail, sense of urgency and organizational skills; and have the ability to identify mistakes and inefficiencies. The ability to meet deadlines in an accurate and fast-paced manner is a must!
Part time hours include: 3 days a week, M, W, F, 8:30am – 5:00pm

• Manages the accounts payable cycle which involves receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices and statements prior to payment
• Codes A/P invoices and vouchers for input into the financial data processing system
• Processes accounts and incoming payments
• Prepares and posts manual checks and enters transactions into Excel spreadsheet(s)
• Updates and maintains bankbooks and/or computer spreadsheet(s)
• Posts details of funds received and disbursed, as well as any adjustments, in financial data processing system, in accordance with firm procedures
• Sends vendor bills to outside parties in accordance with Firm’s client guidelines
• Monitors bank account balances to ensure proper balances are maintained
• Assist with yearly audit support
• Orders supplies as needed
• Performs other related A/P responsibilities as needed


• Two-year degree/certificate from college or business school preferred along with 2 years’ experience; or 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in a professional services firm required; law firm experience preferred • Experience working with accounts payable software
• Proven competency in all Microsoft applications including: Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must work well under pressure; work independently as well as with others; be reliable and able to handle multiple tasks and assignments
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills are a MUST!

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to type, finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
