Youth Services Librarian, Storrs Library (Longmeadow)

Town of Longmeadow is seeking a full-time, energetic and experienced professional
librarian to manage a full range of information, programming, and collection development
services in the Youth Services section of Storrs Library. Storrs Library, located on the
historic Town Green in Longmeadow, MA, boasts widespread community support. The
Youth Service Librarian provides reference and reader’s advisory services, program
development (including marketing and implementation), overall responsibility of collection
development, technology support, supervision of staff and volunteers, and actively
coordinates outreach programs, including the Storrs Library BookBike. Also, as part of our
dynamic team, any other duties needed to help drive our Library's vision and fulfill our
mission. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated proficiency in current and emerging
trends in collection development, community programming, ILS systems such as
Evergreen, Google Suite, social media applications, and most importantly a commitment to
exemplary patron service.   

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include an MLS from an ALA-accredited
program, 3 years’ public library experience, and excellent planning & communications
skills.

Salary Range $47,024-$51,300 DOQ/DOE.
