Patron Services Assistant (PT), Hooksett Public Library (Hooksett, NH)

The Hooksett Library is looking for an organized, enthusiastic person with a heart for service and willingness to embrace a fast-paced, team-based environment, in a position that requires multi-tasking while paying close attention to detail.  We are a collaborative group always looking to be on the forefront of new initiatives and trends.   

Please note: 

At this time, duties differ as we are providing virtual services, contactless pickups and library visits by appointment while maintaining safety protocols. The library is committed to following CDC and state guidelines for safety, including social distancing whenever possible, a mandatory mask policy, and frequent cleaning of high-touch surfaces.  Employee safety is a top priority for us as we move through this challenging time.


Patron Services Assistant (Part-Time)


Description: The Hooksett Library is looking for an enthusiastic and customer service-oriented team player to work in our fast-paced environment.  This position requires active multi-tasking and strong attention to detail.  


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Helping patrons locate library materials
Assisting patrons with digital media 
Checking in/out library materials
Registering new patrons
Collection maintenance reports and tasks
Assist with interlibrary loan
Managing unique library collections

Hours include daytime weekday hours, one to two evenings per week and rotating Saturdays. Approximately 20 to 25 hours per week, wage range $14.25 to $14.75/hour.  Job description available at https://www.hooksettlibrary.org/employment-opportunities

Qualifications

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent customer service attitude towards patrons of all ages is essential and proficiency using a computer is necessary. Public library experience and/or experience with Polaris automation system required.
