Web Services Librarian, Falmouth Public Library (Falmouth)

 The Falmouth Public Library, a large, dynamic community-centered organization with two branches, is seeking a forward-thinking Librarian who is looking for a professional position focused on web services. Working under the Head of Adult Services, the candidate will take the lead in providing oversight, support, guidance and training of web-based services and products for patrons and employees. 

 Demonstrated experience, creativity and enthusiasm for working with web-based library services, including downloadable and streaming media, research databases, apps, PCs, printers, social media, integrated library systems (Sierra), GSuite and Microsoft Office, as well as traditional library services. 

Collaborates with Department Heads and numerous external contacts. Identifies, evaluates and stays current with emerging trends. 

 Specific tasks include:

 •        In collaboration with library staff and external vendors, researches products and trials, coordinates electronic subscriptions, trouble shoots electronic resources. 

 •        Trains & assists Library staff with web-based services

 •        Manages library website (Wordpress) 

 •        Provides direct public service with assigned rotation on the Reference Desk


Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) and professional library experience. Willing to consider MLIS candidate with strong relevant experience. 

Preferred: Experience in administering library web-based services and products and working with external vendors.

$24.64 - $31.18/hr with benefits
