Head of Technology and Information Services, Winchester Public Library (Winchester)

Seeking an enthusiastic and flexible team player as a key member of our management team responsible for the Technology and Information Services Department.    Under the general supervision of the Director, responsible for planning, organizing , and implementing information services to patrons from sixth grade through adult.  Responsibilities include staffing and scheduling a department of approximately nine librarians, mostly part-time, in providing information services and technology assistance to the public.  In coordination with the Network Administrator and Assistant Director, responsible for the web site and all aspects of social media.  Provides leadership in designing, developing and supporting the library's online, mobile, and digital presence, including website and digitization projects.  Represents the Library at MLN Reference Interest Group meetings.  35 hrs per week with benefits package.  Schedule includes one evening and a Saturday on rotation.  Non-union.

Qualifications

MLS with minimum three years professional library experience (post MLS), preferably in a public library Reference Department.  Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills essential.  Ability to deal with all members of the public in a courteous and tactful manner.  Excellent reference skills for print non-print and electronic devices are required.  Ability to operate a keyboard and view a computer monitor on a regular basis.  Ability to reach for items on high and low shelves as needed.  Required to talk and hear and lift and move equipment and bookcarts.

Full salary range $60,498 - $82,449 in ten steps.
