Technical Services/Technology Librarian 1, Bedford Free Public Library (Bedford)

The Bedford Free Public Library in Bedford, Massachusetts (pop. 14,200), is seeking an
energetic, enthusiastic, and patron-focused librarian to join our team as a full-time Technical
Services/Technology Librarian 1. This work is performed under the general direction of the
Assistant Director and the Library Director. Responsibilities include the acquisition, cataloging, classifying, processing, and withdrawal of
all library materials including serials.
This role will work closely with the Building and Systems Superintendent to support the
technology needs of the library.
In addition, this position provides information services and technology assistance to patrons of
all ages and abilities at our public services desks.

This position is 40 hours per week, with one evening a week and Saturdays in rotation (typically
once a month) required. 

Qualifications

Qualifications include a Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited school and a
minimum of two years of library, technology, and technical services experience. Knowledge and
principles of professional library science, including bibliographic services, cataloging, automated
systems, and information technology. Experience with Sierra preferred.
Excellent written, oral, and digital communication skills are essential, additional world language
abilities are desirable

Salary

The salary range is $57,908 to $75,277, depending on experience, with a full town benefits package.
