Assistant Library Director, Thomas Crane Public Library (Quincy)

This professional, administrative, and supervisory position assists the Director of Libraries in the overall management of the Library, playing a major role in public programming and marketing, employee supervision, daily operations management, data collection and analysis, development and implementation of policies and procedures, and representing the Library in the community. This position also serves as department head during temporary absences of the Director.

Qualifications

--At least five years of successful professional related work experience, at least three of which have been in a position of supervisory and administrative responsibility in the provision of public library services

--Experience serving culturally, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion

--Knowledge of public programming in libraries, and experience planning, delivering and evaluating public programs

--Knowledge of marketing, communications, and outreach services and methods

--Thorough working knowledge of library technology and web-based products and services and common office computing applications

--Skill in statistics and data analysis; Skill in public speaking, both in person and on camera
