Assistant Library Director, Plymouth Public Library (Plymouth)

The Town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Library Director for the Plymouth Public Library.

Administrative and supervisory work in assisting the Library Director in the management of the Public Library.  Responsible for managing the physical plants of both Branch Libraries including contacting repair and service companies when needed and coordinating service and maintenance contracts through the bidding process.  Assists with preparation and management of the budget.  Coordinates all schedules for the various divisions within the Library system.  Selects and orders materials for the Library, conducts monthly adult programming, and is responsible for the publicity of events and contributions to the Corporation Newsletter.

Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school with three to five years progressively responsible experience in professional Library work, including acquisitions, cataloging, and classifications of Library material; progressive supervisory experience required; experience in the preparation and preservation of Library materials, automation, networks, and Library administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements: Massachusetts Certificate of Professional Librarianship.

Salary:  $33.5788/hr., 37.5 hours/week.
