Assistant Director/Youth Librarian



Mary E. Bartlett Memorial Library is seeking enthusiastic, qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Director/Youth Librarian.



Full time/40-hour work week which includes a need to be flexible to weekend/evening hours and meetings/events that do not fall during normal library hours.



Salary range: TBD 



Benefits package included.



Target start date: Monday, August 9, 2021



The Assistant Director/Youth Librarian position assists the Library Director, performs supervisory tasks, manages the Youth Department (children’s, juniors, and young adult areas), performs daily operations of the library, coordinates outreach, maintains positive public relations, provides youth programming, and stays up to date with professional development.

Qualifications

Experience/Training: MLS/MLIS preferred, but not required. Experience working in a public library for a minimum of 4 years required. Bachelor’s Degree required with a preferred focus on education and/or children’s literature. A prioritized commitment to customer service required.
