The Coordinator of Library Services - Technical Services provides leadership and is responsible for, but not limited to, supporting the acquisition of resources and creating and managing records that provide bibliographic access to print and digital resources, including databases and open educational resources (OER) used by the Bristol community. The position provides collection development support for the print and online collection, including but not limited to vendor relations, database access via proxy server, and acquisitions. The Coordinator prepares original and copy cataloging records for materials in all formats and oversees the provision of additional copy cataloging and processing support. This position functions as the main technical contact for Bristol's implementation of the integrated library system through the Higher Education Libraries of Massachusetts (HELM) consortium. Additionally, the position catalogs open educational resources and connects Bristol with the Massachusetts Community Colleges OER Hub and other OER repositories.



NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.

Minimum of a Master's degree in Library Science or closely related field.*
Minimum of five (5) years of experience and/or training involving library operations, reference service, bibliographic instruction, circulation service, copy cataloging and library information systems.*
* An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
Demonstrated proficiency with cataloging standards, such as but not limited to Resource Description and Access (RDA), Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2), Library of Congress subject Heading policies and classification rules, Library of Congress Authority Files, MARC Records management, and OCLC. 
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
Reliable transportation for travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as required
