Systems & Technology Librarian, Dover Public Library (Dover, NH)

We are looking for an Information Technology Librarian to join our team at the Dover Public Library.  We are looking for someone who can juggle many tasks without missing a beat, is a quick and enthusiastic learner, a patient teacher, and brings a sense of fun and excitement to the job.  We are a KOHA Library and experience with that is a plus. Knowledge about networking, cataloging, 3D printing, reporting, data science, database integration, spreadsheet software, and the ability to make self-help guides will be useful regularly. Patrons and librarians look to the Information Technology Librarian for help with their increasing tech needs, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys teaching and helping the library lead in emerging technologies.



--Systems Administration experience including Active Directory and Group Policies
--Ability to troubleshoot, prioritize, escalate and find technical solutions quickly and effectively, often using online and vendor resources
--Customer service experience
--Experience running an application that utilizes an SQL database, including the ability to write reports in SQL.
--Open source experience helpful
--Website experience including knowledge of CSS.
--Excitement about continually learning and training others in a supportive way
--Ability to test, install, and evaluate hardware and software.
--Experience working with, and supporting, various types of patrons with all ranges of technical expertise.
--Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
--Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
--Demonstrated ability to think critically, analyze problems, and develop and implement creative solutions.
--Evidence of a high degree of initiative and versatility, a customer-service focus, and a desire to master new technologies.
--Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads, employees, and the public and to deal with service problems courteously and tactfully.

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. $26.26 to $38.09 per hour.
