Library Technology Coordinator, East Longmeadow Public Library (East Longmeadow)

UPSEU Professionals Union, Grade E. A full-time, 37.5 hours per week, supervisory position is available working in the Information Services department of our busy, customer service oriented public library. Essential duties include providing reference and readers' advisory service to adults and young adults at the Information Desk; planning, designing, and ongoing maintenance of the library's web site; maintenance of all library computers; promoting the library through traditional outlets as well as social media; serving as library liaison to the Town of East Longmeadow IT Department and CWMars library network; and teaching technology classes and workshops to teens and adults. Candidates should possess a strong interest in current and emerging technologies in public libraries. The Technology Coordinator is also responsible for supervising the teen area; may perform other similar duties. Scheduled hours include one evening each week and a Saturday rotation. 


A Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited university and 3 to 5 years' experience is required. Also required are knowledge of library automated systems, current Web-related programming software, and local area networks; familiarity with CWMars or similar library network; knowledge of current and emerging trends in library technology.
