Library Page, Richards Memorial Library (Paxton)

This is a two to four hour per week, non-benefited position. Work is performed over one two-hour shift on a set weekday, and one Saturday per month (required). High school students are encouraged to apply. Occasional opportunities to work seasonal events throughout the year. 

Duties: Sorts and shelves library materials by call number. Maintains order by physically straightening, organizing, and shifting  materials on shelves and display areas. Prepares library materials for public use. Participates in weeding and shifting the collection under the direction of library staff. Performs other tasks as requested.


Ability to move and lift library materials up to 30 pounds, with assistance if necessary, from one location to another. Ability to bend and reach lower shelves and upper shelves. Ability to file alphabetically and numerically; positive attitude toward public service work. Highly motivated and able to work independently. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to complete routine tasks assigned. Punctuality and dependability
