Temporary Law Librarian, Western New England University School of Law Library (Springfield)

Western New England University School of Law is seeking a service-oriented individual to serve as Temporary Law Librarian. This Librarian assists with all primary library functions, with a focus on cataloging and discoverability of our library materials. Additionally, this position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting patrons with research inquiries, participating in the Library’s instructional programs; providing Circulation Desk coverage, and assisting with special projects.

This librarian works 20 hours per week. We will work with the successful candidate to determine specific days and times.

An ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library Science or substantial completion toward this degree or appropriately related discipline with one (1) year of related experience; or a combination of education, training, and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties. Knowledge of OCLC and one of the major ILS systems.  Strong service orientation. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Law library experience is desirable, although we will train the right candidate.
