Downtown U Course Facilitator, Framingham Public Library (Framingham)

DEPARTMENT: Library
HOURS: 8 hours per week, 40 weeks

Position Purpose:
Funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, this is a temporary position which will coordinate activities for the Framingham Public Library’s Downtown U’s Business Resource Center. Works under the direction of the Director of Libraries, Director of FSU’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center.

Essential Functions:

§ Facilitate planning meetings.
§ Prepare, schedule, and facilitate registration for workshops, courses, and other activities.
§ Workshops may be conducted either live or remotely using meeting software such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.
§ Facilitate workshops whether virtual or remote.
§ Actively market and promote all events on Social Media and other outlets.
§ Conduct and record participant surveys and evaluations pre and post workshops and courses.
§ Create and maintain business plans to support program sustainability.
§ Collect and maintain participation and outreach statistics.

Time spent standing, walking, and sitting. Lifting, pushing/pulling, or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds with occasionally a maximum of 40 pounds. Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, and squatting. Repetitive movements of the hands.

Qualifications

§ Bachelor’s Degree preferred
§ Familiarity with remote meeting software such as Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams
§ Ability to facilitate online group instruction, including monitoring participant/instructor interactions
§ Good organizational skills; ability to manage
§ Familiarity with Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
§ Interest in and commitment to public education access, higher education, or public libraries
§ Portuguese and Spanish highly desirable
