Job Description:




Oversees the electronic reserves service. Manages the Document Delivery and Retrieval service. Supports the Content & Information Strategies Department in managing, maintaining, and providing access to print and electronic journals, databases, ebooks, and streaming videos.




Essential Functions:




• Primary processor/handler of electronic reserve materials via scanning, uploading, or linking of required materials. Trains faculty members in the use of and policies pertaining to electronic reserve services. Utilizes appropriate hardware and software to optimize processing of electronic reserve materials. Monitors related copyright compliance.

• Manages the Document Delivery and Retrieval service, providing library owned/accessed material to faculty, students, and staff; maintains policies and procedures of service.

• Processes serials and electronic resources payments and tracks expenditures; resolving problems and financial discrepancies with Librarian.

• Processes and maintains physical serial subscriptions including serial records, orders, holdings, shelf management, claims and binding.

• Maintains electronic (serials) subscriptions in the Knowledgebase including updating status, holdings and links; performs regular tests of subscribed electronic serial and database content.

• Assists in providing access to ebooks and streaming videos if needed.

• Participates in gathering usage statistics for the library and managing some vendor administrator sites as needed.

• Cross-trained as a member of the Access & Discovery Services team, providing backup for circulation, stacks, interlibrary loan, and traditional reserves when necessary; monitoring library equipment throughout the day; and coordinating supplies with Library Operations Administrative Coordinator.

• High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred

• Excellent written and oral communication skills required

• Proven competence with desktop software applications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as with a team

• Flexibility appropriate for a dynamic work setting

• Strong customer service ethic required

• Experience working or volunteering in libraries preferred

• Experience working with library content and software preferred

Salary Range: $15.87 - $17.47 / hr

This position is classified as non-exempt level position for purposes of the federal wage and hour law.
