Branch Library Supervisor, Springfield City Library (Springfield)

The East Forest Park Branch Library is one of the busiest in our beautiful city! Help set the vision for the branch and play an important role in carrying it out. The branch opened to the public in 2019 as a brand-new building with a large Community Room for programming and performances. There are a makerspace, a teen room, a children's room, and plenty of up-to-date technology to enjoy. Outside you'll find reading gardens, a patio for programming and relaxing, and significant open space. The neighborhood is well-loved by the neighborhood it serves.  See inside here.

The Supervisor at our East Forest Park Branch Library is responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in the everyday functioning of the library. This includes staff supervision, public interaction, programming, facility management, and administrative duties. Work is performed with latitude in the exercise of independent initiative and judgment and in collaboration with the Branch Manager. Supervision is exercised over a team of six people.

The Supervisor engages with the community, manages and helps staff the reference and public service areas, plans and implements programming, and oversees the building and reports any facility problems.

Our City's population numbers 156,000.  Our library system has nine locations: a downtown Central Library, and eight neighborhood branches.  Take a virtual tour of our libraries here!  Take a look at our beautiful city:
