Library Page, Westfield Athenaeum (Westfield)

The Library Page reports to the Head of Adult Services and provides for the timely and accurate return of materials to their proper place to enable patron access, as well as assistance in matters related to the departments programs. The page re-shelves and maintains library materials in the Adult section of the Library and performs other tasks related to keeping the collections in order. Materials include, but are not limited to: nonfiction, fiction, audio books, DVDs, music CDs, periodicals and other materials requested or assigned. Pages perform basic clerical and inventory-based functions using library software, they assist patrons in finding books, and assist staff with special projects.


Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent certificate, basic computer skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent attention to details, the ability to work as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced work environment, and the ability to bend and lift light loads of 30 pounds. Preferred qualifications include customer service experience and/or library experience.

Salary Notes

Salary will automatically increase to $15.00 an hour in January, 2023.
