Part-Time Children's Library Assistant, Boyden Library (Foxborough)

The Boyden Library is seeking a self-motivated, service oriented individual to join our staff as a Library Assistant in the Youth Services Department.  The Library Assistant is responsible for direct customer service at the Youth Service Circulation Desk. The chosen candidate will execute various duties in the technical services and programming areas of the Youth Services Department.

Working Hours: This is a part-time position (18 hrs. per week).  The weekly hours include two evenings, alternate Saturdays and one Sunday per month between October-April.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Performs all circulation duties including but not limited to: checking materials in and out, searching for materials, placing patron holds, new patron registration, collecting fines and fees, preparing materials for transit, and other related patron services
Provides basic reference and readers’ advisory service to patrons; interprets library policies and procedures to the public 
Receives materials and verifies packing information and report materials not received
Processes all Children’s materials including books, periodicals kits, puppets, and audio-visual materials; prepares new materials for circulation 


Minimum of High school Diploma
Public library experience preferred
Knowledge of Children's materials desirable
Experience with automated library systems and personal computers preferred

$18.51 - $23.47  / hour
