Staff Librarian II, Community Engagement and Programming, Acton Memorial Library (Acton)

This innovative individual will plan, promote, and oversee virtual and in-person programs for Adults and Young Adults (grades 9-12). Work will be inside and outside the library to serve these populations, coordinating with key community organizations.  This person will create opportunities to collaborate with all town departments, fostering town-wide relationships and representing the library at town events such as the Farmers Market.  This team member will promote events on social media. They will create positive connections between the community and the library not only through programs and partnerships, as well as providing excellent customer service to Young Adults and Adults at a busy Reference Desk and by assisting with collection development and maintenance.


ALA-accredited Masters degree in Library Science plus the equivalent of 2 years fulltime experience in a fully automated public library oo relevant library experience or a combination of both.  Library program and publicity experience; experience working with and troubleshooting common library technologies; experience working with different cultures; demonstrated knowledge of current trends in library technology, excellent organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

Salary Notes

Grade I8 in ten steps, entry level $27.75 per hour, 40 hours per week
