Head Librarian, Educational Resource Center, Boston College (Boston)

Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Access, Administration and Diversity, the Head Librarian for the Educational Resource Center (ERC) manages three full-time staff and about twenty student assistants and oversees operations and facilities of one of the special libraries on campus. The ERC has an in-depth collection of instruction, curricular, and counseling materials representing all areas of the K-12 curriculum. This position provides reference services and bibliographic instruction in curriculum resources, develops effective teaching programs and services to enhance ERC instruction, and works with faculty and the practicum office to ensure that students have an awareness and understanding of current curriculum materials and technology. With a budget of approximately $134,000 this position evaluates and selects books, realia, visual materials, videos, databases, tests and measures and other materials to be purchased and manages appropriate resource allocation. This leadership position is involved in committee work, library initiatives, task forces, strategic planning and professional organizations. 

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $80,100 to $100,100; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

This position requires a minimum of 5 years of post MLS Masters experience working as a K-12 teacher or
librarian in an academic setting, and 3+ years of managerial experience.
