Library Manager, West Acton Citizens' Library (Acton)

The Town of Acton is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time benefitted Citizen’s Library Manager. The manager will be responsible for the management, direction, development, and administration of the West Acton Citizen’s Library including all library services, personnel, policies, outreach, public relations and programs as well as the administration of financial resources. The manager will be responsible for all library staff at the Citizens Library plus Senior Workers and volunteers. 

The manager will oversee the staff, volunteers, and pages at the Citizens library and will collaborate with the Citizen Library Trustees, other Town departments, and community organizations. Will seek and assess new trends in library resources, technology, and services and help with development and weeding of the West Acton collections. Assist with buying and choosing selections for the Citizens Library. Helps with addressing any concerns, complaints, questions, or help needed by library patrons. Plans, schedules, and executes with collaboration with Acton Memorial Library special events and programs. Works with the Assistant Library director on staff schedules and vacation approvals. Assist with the representation and be the back up representation of the West Acton Citizens Library at library related meetings. Over see facility operations and safety and submit repair requests as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications

Minimum Entrance Requirements: ALA-accredited Masters degree in Library Science plus 2 years of progressively responsible professional public library experience in a fully-automated library; of which 1 year consist of management or supervisory experience, including participation in budget implementation; demonstrated communications, organizational and public service skills; experience working with a diverse community and staff; experience in personnel selection and evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a library branch manager in a public library; experience with RFID; degree in public administration or business; experience with trust funds, long range planning, archives, grant writing or policy development.

$68,178.50 - $76,735.62  / year

Salary Notes

Pay Rate: Starting at OI 11; $32.77-$36.89/hr.; $68,178.50-$76,735.62/yr.
