Library Assistant II, Pelham Public Library (Pelham, NH)

The Pelham Public Library is looking for a friendly and energetic team member to work the circulation desk of our library, assisting at the children’s or teen circulation desks when necessary. The successful candidate will have creative problem-solving abilities and be attentive to details. We are looking for someone who will contribute to a positive environment and exhibit a commitment to our library’s mission. 


 Duties: General duties include checking materials in and out, handling reserved materials, cash transactions, creating displays, providing excellent customer service to patrons both in person and over the phone, promoting library services to patrons, and a host of other tasks. This position assists our Head of Children’s Services librarian through assistance in preparation and oversight of some children’s programs and story times.

Schedule (tentative): (26  hrs./week) . Monday 10-5PM, Tuesday 10-2PM, Wednesday 10-6PM, Thursday 5-8PM, Every other Saturday 10-2PM 

Qualifications

 Candidate must have excellent customer relations skills and proficiency with computers; must have experience with Microsoft Office, G Suite, and Canva.  Experience working in a public or school library highly desirable. Experience working with middle school aged individuals highly desirable. Candidates must also be detail-oriented, with the ability to alphabetize and correctly shelve materials in Dewey Decimal order.
