Librarian 2 - Community Services, Worcester Public Library (Worcester)

The Library Assistant is a paraprofessional position, reporting to the Community Branch Services Supervisor and under the overall direction of the Community Services Coordinator.  This position assists with the daily operations of assigned branch libraries; coordinates and performs circulation activities; provides exemplary customer service to patrons; acts as a liaison with the Main Library Circulation Department and C/W MARS; and supervises operations in the Community Branch Services Supervisor’s absence. Work will include evenings, weekends and assignments in other departments, locations and Mobile services vehicle.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         One (1) year of community public service work, such as library, day care center, book store, or equivalent 

·         Ability to successfully pass CORI/SORI

·         Reliable transportation to travel between required locations

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

·         One (1) year of supervisory experience in a youth setting
