Adult Services Page, Westfield Athenaeum (Westfield)

Reporting to the Head of Adult Services, the Page for Adult Services provides for the timely and accurate return of materials to their proper place to enable patron access, as well as assistance in matters related to the department's other programs and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
-Reshelves and maintains library material in the Adult section of the library and performs other tasks related to keeping the collections in order. Materials include, but are not limited to: nonfiction books, fiction books, audio books, DVDs, music CDs. periodicals and other materials as requested or assigned.
-Performs basic clerical and inventory-based functions using library software.
-Assists patrons with directional questions.
-Assists staff with special projects.
-Shelf reads the collection in order to maintain proper order.
-Other related duties as assigned by the Head of Adult Services.


-A high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
-Basic computer skills.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-Excellent attention to details.
-Ability to work as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced work environment.
-Ability to interact with library patrons and library staff in a positive and professional manner.
-Ability to bend and lift light loads up to 30 pounds.

$14.25  / hour

Salary Notes

Will increase to $15/hour in January 2023.
