Part-Time Reference Librarian, Woburn Public Library (Woburn)

Position:

The Woburn Public Library is seeking a part time professional librarian to provide public service at the Reference Desk and assist with collection development and programming functions.  

Essential Tasks:  

Responds to phone and in person inquiries from the public.

Assists patrons in locating materials and in the operation of various electronic resources.

Assists in the selection and acquisition of new materials and a wide variety of collection maintenance functions.

Develops Lib-Guides and other user aids.

Promotes use of the library through postings on the web site and through social media.

Work Environment:

The 1879 building, designed by H.H. Richardson was completely restored and a beautiful glass addition was completed in 2019.  The building is a beautiful state of the art facility.

Part-time, includes some evening and Saturday hours.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  

MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited institution.   Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively.  Must be comfortable with answering technology questions regarding various devices and forms of digital content.  Customer service experience is required.  Public library experience, ideally within the Minuteman Library Network is preferred.
