Library Associate - Collection Services, Reading Public Library (Reading)
Provides high quality, inclusive, and equitable library services and customer assistance to library users at the public service desks. Responsible for facilitating patron access, building positive patron rapport, and creating welcoming environment for visitors of all ages, abilities, and identities. This paraprofessional position assists the Division Head and Borrower Services Librarian II to improve workflow in division.
Qualifications
Reading Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, service-oriented para-professional to join our Collection Services team.
The successful candidate will love providing patrons with high-quality, inclusive, and equitable library service. In addition to basic circulation control and patron account management, our Library Associates build positive patron rapport and create a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages, abilities, and identities.
This non-exempt 20-hour-a-week position includes one evening and a Saturday rotation.
The Reading Public Library is dedicated to education and accessibility for all patrons. Our service and culture center on RPL’s Education, Equity, Access, and Accountability core values. Excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and a positive attitude are essential.
