Technical Services Assistant, Social Law Library (Boston)
This is a 24 hour per week, on-site position.
Primary responsibilities include managing claims for nonreceipt of collection materials, processing new materials, cataloging, preparing materials for binding, and filing into looseleaf services and other formats.
Qualifications
We are seeking an MLS candidate in an American Library Association accredited institution.
Prior library experience is required, with experience in a law library setting preferred. Experience using the acquisitions, serials, or cataloging modules of an automated library system is required; Innovative Interfaces, Inc. is preferred. Computer experience required; WORD and EXCEL preferred. Database searching in OCLC; WorldShare is preferred. Internet searching, knowledge of MARC, Cataloger’s Desktop, RDA, and Classification Web are also preferred.
Must have typing skills. Must be detail-oriented, comfortable with computers, and at ease with high volume of telephone work. Must be able to work well with others, but also work independently. Requires strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
