Library Assistant, Morse Institute Library (Natick)

The Morse Institute Library is accepting applications for the Library Assistant position. The Morse Institute Library is a library with strong community support in the town of Natick. This position assists patrons of all ages at the services desks, and helps patrons access and utilize library services. 

Duties include charging, discharging, and renewing books and materials at the circulation desk or curbside; registering new patrons for library cards and managing patron records in an integrated library system; answering telephones; assisting patrons in locating and retrieving books and other library materials; shelving; repairing and restoring books; and performing other relevant duties as requested by the Circulation Supervisor or Library Administration. Some Saturdays and evenings are required.

This is a part-time, 32 hr/week, non-exempt, benefited position starting at $22.2781/hr.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a strong customer service background with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be detail oriented, and possess the ability to work well in a team environment. Previous library experience, bilingual abilities, and knowledge of Sierra ILS software is preferred.
