Minot-Sleeper Library

Located in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire with proximity to a wide range of outdoor recreational opportunities, the Minot-Sleeper Library seeks its next Director. This individual is an experienced leader with excellent communication skills and is service-focused. This is an exciting time to be leading the team and operations at Minot-Sleeper, as new initiatives aligned with the Library’s strategic plan, and new approaches to outreach are developed.

Essential job functions:

·         Manages, trains and supervises the staff and operations of the library, including volunteers.

·         Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates all library personnel. Recommends new employee’s to the trustees for hire.

·         Formulates recommendations to the trustees for library public and personnel policies and ensures enforcement.

·         Prepares and presents the annual budget and oversees expenditure of library funds.

·         Responsible for identifying, applying for and managing grants.

·         Maintains and reports necessary statistics for the Board of Trustees, Town officials and the State Library.

·         Manages the Library’s technology-related resources and services, including its Tech-to-Go program, and oversees technology purchasing and upgrades.

·         Oversees the maintenance of the Library facilities.

·         Maintains and updates the Library’s strategic plan in conjunction with the Board of Trustees.



Requirements:

·         Excellent leadership and communication skills

·         Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and personnel management

·         Knowledge of modern technology and software, and the ability to utilize it to advance the library’s public resources and internal operating systems and procedures.

·         Experience with grant application opportunities and managing funds, or ability to learn

·         Experience in developing and delivering innovative programming for library patrons of all ages



Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will hold a Masters in Library and Information Science from and ALA-accredited school and have experience in public library leadership/administration or have an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Salary and Benefits:

This position is full-time, salaried beginning at a rate of pay of $57,000 to $62,000 depending on qualifications and experience and includes a generous benefits package through the Town of Bristol.
