Director, T. O. H. P. Burnham Library (Essex)
The Director will provide fiscal and operational management and innovative library services to the Town, and deliver support to the Library Trustees in meeting their obligations regarding policy making, reporting, and budgeting.
The Town of Essex is located on the Great Marsh of Cape Ann with a populations of 3,675. The Library is a member of the Merrimack Valley Consortium. The building is a shared space with the town offices in a renovated building built in 1894.
Qualifications
This position requires:
Experience hiring, managing and evaluating staff
Knowledge of the budgetary process and state requirements
Ability to develop and maintain effective working partnerships with staff, the Board of Trustees, the Friends of the Library and community partners
Excellent public relations and communications skills, verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability in the use and management of library technology
The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in any field with a Masters Degree in Library and Information Service from an accredited institution preferred experience in a public library setting, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
