Accessioning Archivist, Baker Library Special Collections and Archives (Boston)
Working as part of Baker Library Special Collections and Archives (BLSCA), the Accessioning Archivist is a member of the BLSCA processing team. The Accessioning Archivist will be responsible for accessioning all incoming Baker Library Special Collections and Archives collection materials including Harvard Business School records and faculty papers, corporate records, and manuscript materials, ensuring that newly accessioned material, both paper and digital, is available for research within a reasonable timeframe. The Accessioning Archivist will also be responsible for creating initial collection-level description for all holdings, ensuring responsible administrative and physical control and basic intellectual access for all material at time of accession, and providing the infrastructure upon which any future archival work will be built. This position liaises regularly with collection managers, and under the guidance of the Manager, Archival Processing, contributes to the department’s policies, procedures, and workflows. Reports to the Manager, Archival Processing.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ experience accessioning and/or processing archival materials in a variety of formats, including experience with current national standards for archival arrangement and description.
